The Centre Metropolitain de Chirurgie is the only private hospital center in Quebec and is part of the Complexe chirurgical CMC. It has been accredited by Accreditation Canada with Exemplary Standing. This is the highest accreditation status in Canada.
Founded in 1973, the Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie (CMC) aims for no less than perfection and the highest standard of quality possible. In order to achieve this, CMC utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and employs highly qualified, professional, welcoming and dedicated staff. Following its expansion, the hospital center now has four operating rooms, a recovery room, a 17-bed hospitalization unit where patients will usually stay for one to three days, a day surgery unit of 18 stretchers, and several examination rooms. In short, CMC has everything a big hospital does, but without its usual tumult and staff exhaustion.
What strikes first when visiting this place is the calm that prevails here. Patients, all of whom are about to undergo surgery, are staying in a soothing place where their needs are considered, and where listening and respect are part of staff values and is evident in the prevailing supportive spirit. The brightness is another notable element. Corridors, bedrooms, and examination rooms are bathed in light, thanks to the strategically placed large windows or skylights. This natural light makes CMC a real living space, where you feel comfortable.
The surgeries provided at the Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie are mainly aesthetic, bariatric, or orthopedic. With nearly 1300 surgeries done in 2018, the twelve surgeons at CMC are all highly qualified and committed to keeping up with the latest surgical practices. Whether it is a breast augmentation or draping, a facial surgery, a blepharoplasty, a gastric bypass, or a knee surgery, CMC specialists will be able to respond to your questions and needs.
The Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie also performs more than 1000 gender affirmation surgeries every year. The latter are managed in conjunction with GRS Montreal, another subsidiary of the Complexe chirurgical CMC. In all cases, patients are tended to by our medical staff for their preoperative and postoperative care.
In all surgeries there are risk factors and those performed here are no exception. This is why surgeons at the Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie will make sure to explain everything you need to know allowing you to make an informed decision and to prepare yourself adequately before the surgery. Depending on the type of surgery, you will have the opportunity to stay a few days to recover before returning home. If you undergo major genital surgery, you will recover at Maison de convalescence Asclépiade, the private recovery home of the Complexe chirurgical CMC. In all cases, we will provide you with tips as how to prepare for your return home to have the best convalescence and recovery possible.
At the Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie, we work as a team to accompany you, advise you, guide you, treat you, and provide you all the necessary care so that your hospital stay is conducted within the best possible conditions and that your experience – which aims to enhance your well-being – lives up to all your hopes and expectations.
